Waiau Pa Clarks Beach "Tide" Basketball was started in 2016 as a non-profit, community initiative for the sole goal to get kids in our area playing basketball. All of our coaches, manages, referees and co-ordinators are volunteers.

 

Our aim is to:

 

• Encourage participation - Players, Coaches, Managers and Parents.

• Grow Community Participation and support.

• Help our young people become great sportspeople, great students and rangatira (leaders) in their community.

• Create sporting pathways beyond the club to other sporting and educational opportunities.

GOALS

 

• To grow basketball into an all year round alternative in the community.

• To increase access to facilities both indoor and outdoor in the Waiau Pa/Clarks Beach community.

• To affiliate with other clubs and help grow competition, better coaching and more opportunities for our players to advance to the next level.

• Grow a minimum of one team in each grade up to 7/8 by 2019, 

• Grow pathways into intermediate and high school basketball by building strong relationships with administrators and coaches in the Franklin and Auckland region.
